Dental Crowns & Bridges in Gulfport

Getting a dental crown or bridge in Gulfport will help to restore your smile. At our dental practice, Walter Guillot, DMD knows just what it takes to give you a smile that you will be proud of.

Through decay, injury or disease, your teeth may crack and break. In more serious cases, your teeth may even be lost, leaving a dark gap in your smile. If you want to smile with confidence, consider getting crown or a bridge to repair your cracked or missing teeth. Both crowns and bridges are customized to match the color and shape of your existing teeth.

When tooth damage is severe, a filling may not be able to repair it. Instead, Dr. Guillot may recommend a dental crown. Crowns are sometimes known as “caps” that are placed on top of the visible portion of a tooth to restore it to its natural appearance and function.

Most crowns are made of strong ceramic composites. They are made by taking an impression of your mouth and then custom-made in the shape of your tooth. Crowns are durable and long-lasting with proper care. Your crown’s color is designed to match your existing teeth so it will blend in naturally for a fully-restored smile.

In order to prepare your tooth for a crown, our dentist will give you a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort. He will then clean and prepare the tooth by removing the damage and reshaping the tooth to fit the crown. After the impression is made, he will place a temporary crown. This will protect the damaged tooth until the permanent crown is made.

The porcelain crowns are applied the same way. They also offer sustained durability and a polished look that complements your smile. Typically, the porcelain crowns are stronger and last years longer than the traditional crowns.

If you are missing a tooth or multiple adjacent teeth, a dental bridge is an excellent way to restore it. Bridges fill in the gaps created when teeth are lost. Just like the crowns, they are created with long-lasting ceramics or porcelain that match the color and brightness of your teeth.

How long do bridges last?

Dental bridges can last between 5 and 15 years. With good oral hygiene and regular checkups, your bridge can last over a decade before needing to be replaced.

Are bridges expensive?

Treatment costs will vary depending on the extent of care you need, but we strive to provide affordable dental care to all our patients. Our office accepts many major insurance carriers for your convenience.

Awesome experience! Kind of sad that I have to wait 6 months to go back. The staff is incredibly friendly, the office is beautiful and it was an overall great experience. Quick, easy and painless! Emily is a wonderful hygienist! I've already recommended this practice to a friend who just moved to the area. Thank you!
